On Wednesday, November 2, 2011 Yifat Susskind and Ms. Angela Bruce-Raeburn led the Help for Haiti Panel Discussion in CUB 260. Students were invited to attend the discussion panel to ask questions, and voice opinions on human rights in Haiti.
The featured speakers focused the discussion on NGO’s and US Support for Haiti.
Yifat Susskind is the Policy and Communication Director of MADRE, working to make human rights a reality for all people. Through Madre, Yifat has traveled to Latin America, Africa and the Middle East to work with women’s rights activists to develop programs in various communities to address violence against women, economic development, climate change, and armed conflict.
Angela Bruce-Raeburn is the Senior Policy Advisor for Humanitarian Response for Haiti at OXFAM America. Angela has developed a wealth of knowledge through her field research in Haiti, Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, and Guyana, as well as completed dissertations on Caribbean issues.
